In a context of increasingly stringent environmental requirements, having tools to assess and communicate on the circularity performance of a product has become essential.

The PCDS (Product Circularity Data Sheet), based on the ISO 59040 standard, provides a structured description of a product's circular characteristics by gathering information on its composition, use and end of life.

CircularTracker goes one step further: it translates this data into measurable and comparable indicators. This tool makes it possible to assess and visualize the different circularity attributes of a product based on the PCDS framework.

Briand Group assessed the circular performance of a steel beam using its PCDS. The analysis through CircularTracker highlights in particular:

  • a strong product reuse potential (a Next Use Index of 92%);
  • a high material recovery potential (a Continuous Cycle Index of 68%).

Furthermore, the analysis revealed several areas for improvement, notably:

  • in terms of data transparency;
  • increased use of renewable energy during manufacturing at suppliers;
  • the requirement for a minimum recycled material content in purchased products.

CircularTracker therefore goes beyond producing an overall score — it enables a deeper understanding of a product's circularity. By relying on quantified and normatively structured indicators, it becomes possible to identify improvement levers and guide design and purchasing decisions through the use of a common language.
