How long does it take?
Our aim is to make the creation of the PCDS as quick and easy as possible, with, for example, questions in true/false format, or pre-filling aids. In our experience, users who know the basic information about their product take between 1 and 2 hours to complete a PCDS.
How much does it cost?
Access to the platform is free if you only wish to consult the PCDSs created by other users. If you wish to create PCDSs, you must take out a paid annual subscription, and depending on the number of PCDSs you wish to create, pay a creation fee per PCDS. Click here for our price list.
Is it mandatory to have a verified or audited PCDS?
Not from our point of view. For the moment, PCDS is self-reporting. In the future, we'll be developing an audit function, with third-party verification partners, if you need to have a PCDS audited as part of, for example, obtaining a label or regulatory reporting.

What is the ISO 59040 standard?
It is an internationally recognized standard that provides a general methodology and requirements for the creation of a PCDS, notably in terms of definitions, interoperability and file structure. The Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy, to which Terra Matters reports, was the main instigator of this new standard, which is due to be published in early 2025.
